The Story
About Jonathan

Hi, I'm Jonathan
I'm a hiker, gear tester, and firm believer that the best views come after the hardest climbs. What started as a way to decompress on weekends turned into a full-blown obsession with the outdoors.
I've spent the last eight years exploring trails across the Pacific Northwest, the Rockies, and the Southwest. I test every piece of gear I recommend on actual trails — not in a showroom, not in my backyard, but on the mountains where it matters.
This site is where I share everything I've learned: the gear that works, the trails that inspire, and the stories that remind me why I keep lacing up my boots. No sponsorships, no affiliate tricks — just honest words from someone who actually puts in the miles.
“The summit is what drives us, but the climb itself is what matters.”

A spontaneous weekend hike to Mount Si changed everything. Standing above the clouds for the first time, I knew this was more than a hobby.
First Multi-Day Trek
Five days on the Wonderland Trail around Mount Rainier. 93 miles, 22,000 feet of elevation gain, and zero regrets.
100 Trails Milestone
Hit triple digits somewhere on the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon. Celebrated with instant ramen and a sunset I'll never forget.
Started Sharing
Friends kept asking for gear recommendations and trail tips. Figured it was time to put it all in one place. Hiking to the Top was born.
